Bandung, W Java (ANTARA News) - A total of 150 invitees from all over Indonesia enlivened the launching of a polygamy club at Grand Aquila hotel here on Saturday night (Oct 17).
Chairperson of the Malaysian Global Ikhwan Polygamy club, Chodijah Binti Am was also present on the occasion attended by guests among others from Papua, Jakarta, Tasikmalaya and Garut in West Java province.
In addition to the inauguration of polygamy club in line with an activity themed "Polygamy as panacea to win the love of God`, the organizing committee also performed music concerts, operettas and an explanation about polygamy.
Chodijah Binti Am said, the polygamy club was initially inaugurated in Malaysia. Thus, the Global Ikhwan will establish a branch in Indonesia starting first in Java and then in Sumatra.
"Before inaugurating a polygamy club branch in Bandung, I have traveled throughout Indonesia to convey the mission of polygamy," she told Antara.
The polygamy club in Malaysia has been running well, Chodijah said, adding that the club currently has 300 members in various countries, like Indonesia, Australia, Singapore, Middle East, and Thailand.
She said polygamy is a kind of panacea to win the love of God. because a polygamist will always have trouble running his or her life.
"When in trouble she or he will ask for help to God. As a wife of a polygamist husband she will constantly ask help from God," she said.
Chodijah admitted, as a woman she initially also rejected polygamy, and even her whole family for fear that Chodijah will be unhappy and neglected.
But, she added, after over 30 years of living as a polygamist wife, Chodijah even won the love of God, because she was in constant contract with Him (Allah).
Chodijah did not deny that the effort to establish a polygamy club in Indonesia would lead to opposition from various circles especially from women.
This also happened in Malaysia when it was first established, but now everyone can accept it, she disclosed.
Therefore, it is a natural thing that the establishment of the club in Indonesia will face challenges, but, when they especially women understand about the value of polygamy they may eventually accept it, she explained.
"In Indonesia there are now already 30 families who joined the polygamy club, and I will establish other branches in Java and Sumatra, and may be throughout Indonesia," she added .(*)
